In the heart of Paris, the 6th arrondissement, popular with strollers and epicureans, is home to small cafés with literary traditions, fine cultural institutions, but also great culinary addresses that we love to share. Here’s our selection of the best restaurants in this emblematic district of Paris.
Monteverdi in the 6th arrondissement
Right in the heart of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district, nestles Monteverdi, flagship of Italian gastronomy in the 6ᵉ since 1974. It serves classic, gourmet recipes just the way we like them, such as fettuccine with truffles or spaghetti alle vongole, creamy mozzarella to perfection or tiramisu to die for. In the evening, Monteverdi revels in the piano bar with cocktails and Italian wines. A different pianist plays a varied repertoire each evening, from classical to pop and jazz. In a chic, cosy atmosphere by the fireplace, it’s the perfect place to dine with friends.
Monteverdi, 5 Rue Guisarde, 75006
Brasserie des Prés

After Bellanger, Dubillot and Martin, the Nouvelle Garde family has expanded with the arrival of Brasserie des Prés! In this Art Nouveau den, you can enjoy a delicious meal in a setting that’s out of the ordinary in Paris. This colorful restaurant once again showcases the very best of traditional French cuisine . Homemade, local, seasonal and direct from the producer: the great classics of Hexagonean gastronomy, as well as the most sought-after creations, are sourced from the finest produce.

Korean Barbecue Grill
The Korean Barbecue Grill is no secret: it’s definitely a favorite address for fusion cuisine fans! Here, the chef blends French and Korean influences to create an original and, frankly, delicious BBQ. Want an example? Try the beef kim bap with barbecue-passion sauce, you’ll be amazed.
14 rue du Dragon, 75006
Blueberry in the 6th arrondissement

While most of the capital’s Japanese restaurants struggle to stand out from the rest, we’ve finally stumbled across a real nugget. Part of the Dining Rooms group, which also owns Marcello and Steam Bar, Blueberry pays homage to Japanese gastronomy with a menu inspired by the traditions of the best izakaya bars.
Blueberry – 6, rue du Sabot, 75006
Specimen Burger

A few months ago, Specimen Burger opened its doors a stone’s throw from the lively rue Princesse. Minimalist and devilishly effective, the menu offers a double cheese or veggie version of the holy smash burger. Between two airy potato buns, we find the excellent combination of two smashed steaks as crispy as they are tasty, and slices of cheddar that melt in the mouth. A little onion, a little lettuce and a revisited mayonnaise, and you’ve got a combination so good, it’ll make any gourmet fall over at the first bite.
Specimen Burger – 3, rue Guisarde, 75006
Marcello
In the heart of the timeless Saint-Germain-des-Prés district , Marcello ticks all the boxes of a good address. With its privileged sunken terrace, industrial yet hushed decor and, above all, a menu that pays homage to transalpine tradition, all the ingredients are there! So if you’re looking for good Italian food in the neighborhood, you know where to go!
Marcello – 8, rue Mabillon, 75006
Maoz

Nestled in the picturesque LatinQuarter , Maoz is a popular place to enjoy a delicious and affordable falafel. Their unique concept lets you customize your falafel by choosing from a variety of fresh toppings, sauces and condiments. Unleash your creativity and assemble your perfect falafel, before settling down to enjoy it in the charming Luxembourg Gardens nearby.

Le Bar des Prés in the 6th arrondissement

Just as Cyril Lignac opened Dragon, his fourth establishment on the eponymous Saint-Germain-des-Prés street, we present Le Bar des Prés, the French chef’s tribute to Japanese gastronomy. The menu features an assortment of sushi and sashimi made with the finest ingredients, and a thousand delights to share or keep jealously to yourself.
Le Bar des Prés – 25, rue du Dragon, 75006
Kodawari Ramen

Walking into this Japanese-style restaurant, you’d almost think Odéon was the next-door neighbor to Shibuya. Chef Jean-Baptiste Meunier, passionate about Japan, founded this ramen institution in the capital. The décor, based on Japanese yokocho (alleyways housing bars and small restaurants), promises an immersion in both flavor and atmosphere.
Kodawari Ramen – Yokocho, 29 Rue Mazarine, 75006
Le Bouillon Racine

Less well known than its counterparts in Paris, Bouillon Racine has a rather singular history. Initially frequented by the truly modest, it later enjoyed a resurgence in popularity among the more affluent classes before undergoing a major renovation in 1996. Today, its absolutely sumptuous setting attracts gourmets from all horizons to come and immerse themselves in the Paris of yesteryear. A must-try!

Le Comptoir du Relais
In the heart of the district, precisely on the Carrefour de l’Odéon, stands the majestic storefront of Le Comptoir du Relais. In its warm, authentic atmosphere, you can enjoy the most exquisite dishes of French gastronomy, simple yet delicious. A spot to discover with your eyes closed.
Le Hibou, ski atmosphere in the 6th arrondissement

Head for the Odéon district, where the restaurant Le Hibou proudly takes pride of place. While the restaurant offers a rich and tempting classic menu, the real reason why the crowds flock to this establishment in the heart of Paris is the fondue, the real star of the menu, available every year from November. And to take the mountain ambience even further, Le Hibou has transformed itself into a veritable ski resort for the occasion! The restaurant has even installed authentic ski gondolas on its winter terrace!
