As you know, a large number of Olympic and Paralympic events will be in the very heart of Paris. In order to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety during the games, some terraces will be removed…
JO : 10% of Paris’s terraces will disappear during the Olympic Games
In detail, the Paris Prefecture of Police has announced that 6% of Parisian terraces will be affected by this restriction, and 4% of terraces with an extension, with a floor, will have to remove them.
We find terraces located along the Seine, in the 7ᵉ, 8ᵉ, 2ᵉ, 16ᵉ and 12ᵉ arrondissements. The terraces most likely to be affected by these restrictions are sidewalk terraces and terraces on parking spaces located in red zones. Most of these will be banned from July 1ᵉʳ to September 11 inclusive. Furniture must also be removed from spectator approach routes during sporting events.
Similarly, from July 18 to 26, terraces on the sILT gray perimeter during the opening ceremony must be removed beforehand.
Bad news for those who wanted to take advantage of the sun on the terrace…
