Join us now in the middle of the Île Saint-Louis to discover a place that’s already out of the ordinary.
Paris finally has its own cheese museum!
Musée de l’éventail, Musée d’histoire de la Médecine and Musée de la Préfecture de Police: Paris is home to a host of museums museums, each more unusual than the last. Today, the spotlight is on French gastronomy, and in particular on one of its most important emblems. Finally, the capital is home to the very first museum dedicated to the delicacy of cheese. With a historical tour, a cheese factory in action and a tasting area, this innovative space will tell you everything you need to know about this delicious delicacy, from how it’s made to the subtleties of its taste.
Orchestrated over 300 square meters, this new cultural venue will appeal to gourmets and the curious alike. Thanks to multimedia resources and installations, the first section of the tour is dedicated to the history of cheese, its different varieties and how it is made. In the midst of all this, a real dairy-cheese factory has been set up, where a craftsman works all day long, making several varieties of cheese cheese and chat with visitors. Last but not least, there’s also a huge tasting area, where all the senses are catered for.
There’s plenty to see and do, with educational workshops and demonstrations planned throughout the year.
