Les Traversées du Marais, a festival that promotes the Marais cultural scene
Because of its history, its exceptional architectural heritage and its concentration of sites (museums, galleries, concert halls, cultural centers…), the Marais is the preferred destination for culture buffs. It was to celebrate and share this wealth with as many people as possible that the Marais Culture + network created Les Traversées du Marais. Since 2014, the festival has brought together these dynamic and diverse players around a program that’s dense, festive, singular and what’s more 100% free!!
An anniversary edition with a surprise theme
This year, the date is set for the weekend of September 13 to 15, and some thirty venues are opening their doors to you! There’ll be something for all tastes and audiences, too, with visual art, live performance, encounters and proposals for families! The theme of surprise has been chosen, so let our selection of events be your guide!
The Traversées du Marais highlights
Musical offerings, art installations, creative workshops, guided tours… There’s no room for monotony at the Traversées du Marais. At the MAIF Social Club, discover Fingers in the nose, a immersive and olfactory tour that offers a return to childhood (all weekend long)!
At the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, the comedy duo Plonk & Replonk-Bébert will infiltrate the permanent collections to try and make us laugh around the theme of sport (September 15). The children, meanwhile, will be able to transform themselves into sea creatures at the Centre Pompidou which hosts the Sirènes & Cieworkshop (September 14). Another event that should intrigue many is the appearance of artist-plastician Maribo, the Souffleuse de Mot, at the Maison de Victor Hugo (September 15) . Using a cardboard tube, she’ll whisper into your ear excerpts from literary texts..
We might also suggest you take part in this urban embroidery workshop or attend a Bollywood dance experience at Centre de danse du Marais.
