Remember, a few weeks ago, we informed you that a QR code was going to be introduced to make it easier for you to use our products travel during the Olympics. Registration for the latter has just opened. Without this QR code, you won’t be able to move around the competition areas along the Seine between July 18 and 26.
QR code Olympic Games 2024: registration to circulate is open
As we all know, Paris will be difficult to get around during the entire Olympic period, whether it be on the road or in the metro. But for some of you, it will be impossible not to go downtown! Whether you’re a local resident, work in the area or just a pedestrian, you’ll need to present a QR code to move around certain security zones at the Paris Olympics.
To obtain it, simply apply for a passes directly online. For the time being, only the olympic opening ceremony is concerned.
This will run from July 18 to 26. It includes the banks of the Seine, from the Pont d’Austerlitz to the Pont de Iéna, the Trocadéro, as well as the Tuileries Gardens, the Île de la Cité and the Île Saint-Louis. This gray perimeter, known as the “Silt”, will be accessible only via a QR code, and will be off-limits to motorized vehicles (unless otherwise authorized). Already have a ticket for the opening ceremony? There’s no need to apply for a pass, just a ticket.
Of course, the other competition zones will in turn be available on the platform to facilitate your needs.
How do I request a QR code?
After applying on the official pass-jeux.gouv website, you will be asked to provide several documents:
-
- One photo
-
- A piece of identification
-
- Proof of address
-
- An employer’s certificate
The Préfecture de Police warns that the QR code will not be issued within a minute of your request. In fact, the administrative inquiry will take a few days before you can obtain this precious sesame. If you are unable to apply online, please contact your local council. And if, of course, your phone breaks down on the day the QR code is needed, you can of course print out the QR code and present it to the police.
Don’t think you’ll be able to get around without it. The Minister of the Interior was very clear on the subject: “ If you’re not registered, you won’t be able to get in,” he warned Le Parisien.
