This legendary Parisian restaurant, which has just been renovated, is one of the great Parisian restaurants. It took 15 months to restore this exceptional address to its former glory.
La Tour d’Argent, the oldest restaurant in Paris and the table des Rois
Since 1582, it has been the custom for kings to dine here. Starting with Henri III, who is said to have discovered the fork at a dinner in honor of his English counterpart. The Sun King, Louis XIV, would travel there with his court from the Château de Versailles to sample the finest delicacies. Napoleon was also a regular visitor, as were Cardinal de Richelieu and Alfred de Musset… In short, a great crowd! It is one of the only restaurants in Europe to have welcomed Queen Elizabeth and Japanese Emperor Hirohito to its table… That’s how famous it is.
An elegant menu and refined dishes
In terms of cuisine, the restaurant offers the very best to its guests. Chef Yannick Franques revisits the house’s great classics, such as his foie gras des trois empereurs, served with truffle confit and port jelly. But you can also discover some bold, gourmet creations, like the Mystery Egg with white truffle and sautéed chanterelle mushrooms. A unique gastronomic experience. As for wine, the restaurant boasts one of the world’s richest cellars, with no fewer than 15,000 vintage references. A real treasure! If you’re not a wine connoisseur, we suggest a “food and wine” pairing to help you make the right choice.
Beyond its extraordinary cuisine, the restaurant offers breathtaking views of the Seine and Notre-Dame. From the 6ᵉ floors up, you won’t miss a crumb of historic Paris!
As you can imagine, the Tour d’Argent is far from affordable. Minimum charge 360 euros for 5-course service (per person). The prize of excellence and renown for a table that goes back over 400 years.
