Open for just over two months, Boletus is a discreet little treasure that could easily go unnoticed. Yet this new restaurant , nestled at 10 rue Saulnier in the vibrant 9th arrondissement, deserves your undivided attention. For us, it’s already establishing itself as one of the neighborhood’s finest gourmet bistros.
Boletus: an intimate, convivial atmosphere
With its small size and sober yet modern decor, Boletus offers an intimate yet convivial atmosphere. You can even sit at the bar and watch the chefs at work in the kitchen. And what about the staff? Welcoming and smiling, they offer attentive service that testifies to a shared passion for the establishment’s philosophy.
Boletus offers an innovative seasonal menu
We start with a yuzu margarita before exploring the menu. The Boletus menu is a true tribute to seasonal produce, with a regularly renewed menu. At the moment, ceps and chanterelles are in the spotlight. For starters, enjoy classic dishes revisited with a touch of Asian fusion: foie gras with miso, for example, or pan-fried scallops with a cebette sauce. We’re not going to lie to you: we asked for more bread so as not to leave a single drop on the plate!
Elegant and refined dishes
Main courses included beef tataki, grilled octopus, flambéed prawns with yuzu kohlrabi and duck breast. We succumbed to the latter. The presentation is elegant and the cooking flawless. The marriage of honey vinegar with citrus fruit and roasted figs won over our taste buds.
A sweet touch to end the culinary journey
To finish on a high note, we couldn’t resist the Pavlova Prunus. This dessert subtly combines sweetness with a touch of acidity and bitterness. A real treat to end the “culinary voyage,” an expression used by our tablemates that sums up the experience quite well.
