What happens to the cutlery, plates and dishes of top restaurants when they want to change their crockery?
La Vaisselle des Chefs was set up 15 years ago to save these items from the garbage can and give them a better life. The general public, fond of bargains and in search of treasures, has been won over. As for the chefs and establishments, a hundred or so have been seduced by this novel outlet, which combines sharing French heritage with an eco-responsible gesture.
Until now, second-hand enthusiasts and tableware lovers have been able to take advantage of this bargain in Lyon and Bordeaux, but the good news is that the first edition of La Vaisselle des Chefs is arriving this weekend!
Pieces from Le Meurice, Cheval Blanc and Plaza Athénée are up for grabs!
The Parisian sale of Vaisselle des Chefs takes place this Saturday and Sunday at Césure (in the 5th arrondissement).
Glassware, cutlery, crockery and even furniture from some of Paris’s most prized tables will be looking for their new owners! Ten thousand pieces at prices starting at €10 will be on sale!

Which chefs and establishments will be selling their tableware? Among the big names, whose pieces should be snapped up: Cheval Blanc, Anne-Sophie Pic, Le Meurice, the emblematic Plaza Athénée or Le Marsan (by Hélène Darroze).
Brasseries such as Les Deux Magots will also be taking part, selling bistro chairs and tables… This is a must for fans of this favorite St-Germain-des-Près address!
There’s also something for Ladurée enthusiasts, who will be giving away pieces made by the Limoges porcelain house Bernardeau.
Last but not least, part of the proceeds from this weekend’s auction will be donated to the Apprentis d’Auteuil, and any pieces that don’t find new buyers will be donated to the Apprentis d’Auteuil and the Emmaüs Césure boutique!
