There’s a lot going on just 1 hour from the capital. You can find some truly sublime places, such as a century-old guinguette, a hanging mill or a fairytale garden worthy of Alice in Wonderland. This time, we take you to Le Vésinet. A charming town bathed in nature, just 19 minutes from Paris by RER. With its pink palace and magnificent park, you’ll feel like you’re in an episode of The Bridgertons!
A magnificent pink palace surrounded by nature
Le Vésinet is one of the nuggets of the Yvelines region, renowned for the beauty of its landscapes and the nature that surrounds the town. Since time immemorial, Parisian wealth and bourgeoisie have come here to recharge their batteries, and take the time to live by the water.

Among the many treasures to be found in this garden city and its 500-hectare park is the Palais Rose. A royal-looking palace, it’s shrouded in mystery as to who built this masterpiece. The most observant will have noticed some architectural similarities with the Grand Trianon at the Château de Versailles. A nugget that would have pleased a great historical figure: Charles de Gaulle. The latter is said to have spent a few days in this immense 2,000 m² palace with no fewer than 15 rooms. A mini Versailles, only less sought-after!

What’s even crazier is that this historic monument is up for sale… for the princely sum of 38 million euros. The Kretz family agency, known from the Netflix show L’Agence, is the exclusive seller. A rare and precious property, it features a spa, an indoor pool, a large gym, a cinema… in short, the ultimate in luxury!
A city bathed in nature

If acquiring such a property isn’t on your list of priorities, we recommend a visit to Ibis Island. Free and open all year round, this natural nugget offers breathtaking scenery all year round. With its lake, lush greenery and pavilion overlooking the water, this 30-hectare island will give you the impression of being immersed in an Impressionist painting.
In short, so many reasons to visit Le Vésinet this weekend!
