Hidden away not far from Crécy-la-Chapelle, the Moulin Jaune is the work of one man: Slava Polunin. This Russian-born former clown has imagined a world all his own, where surreal and poetic landscapes come together. This house, this garden, is his living, evolving work of art, his open-air dream laboratory. Housed in a genuine mill dating back to 1802, this unique venue in the Paris region welcomes a variety of artists who work side by side to create unforgettable works and immersive shows.
Rarely open to the public, it ‘ s at the end of August, on the 30th and 31st, that you can enter these secret places, where time seems completely suspended. You’ll stroll through an enchanted forest, where chairs seem to grow in trees and a vermilion-red chandelier lights up a bamboo forest. You’ll be amazed by the sometimes zany, sometimes absurd, sometimes poetic installations. There’s nothing more normal here than admiring a winged piano installed in the heart of a forest, or a moss-covered bed floating elegantly on the water… It’s almost like being in Lewis Carroll’s Wonderland.
