Have you heard of the Tournesol Raymond-Mulinghausen pool? This incredible 35 m pool, designed by Bernard Schoeller, is astonishing in its shape as it is in its ingenious structure. Located in Les Lilas, just a stone’s throw from Paris, this highly unusual pool can be rotated up to 120° in summer. This gives you access to its outdoor beach, which is very pleasant on hot days. There’s another similar pool in Bondy, with the same features.
With its yellow color, portholes and pumpkin shape, it almost looks like a UFO landed right in the heart of the city. And the best part? That the pool will cost you just one euro this summer. Yes, you read that right! The pool is part of a program enabling 11 swimming pools in Seine-Saint-Denis to be one euro cheaper all summer long for 4-18 year-olds… It’s a superb initiative that will allow you to cool off all over the region without breaking the bank, and for several weeks!
And for adults over 18, you’ll need to pay around 3 euros to spend the day. A very reasonable price, and a great way to escape the heatwave for less!
