There are plenty of pizza concepts in Paris, but we’ve never been able to get our hands on a real New York-style slice! Generous, supple and fine, these slices, symbols of the Big Apple, now have their reference address in Paris, and not a moment too soon! For a taste of this iconic dish and a little taste of America, Jay’s Pizza is the place to be, in the heart of the buzzing 10th arrondissement.
New York pizza finally has a Paris address
Romaine style with a thin, crispy pastry or neapolitan style with puffed edges: all types of pizzas are well represented in the heart of the capital! But New York pizza, an Italian-American specialty traditionally sold by the slice, had yet to find a good representative in Paris. So if you’d like to try this famous recipe with its thin dough, tasty tomato sauce and deliciously cheesy toppings, head to 20, rue de Mazagran, where Jay’s Pizza is located.
A fine Tribute to American street food, and more specifically New York street food, this restaurant offers a simple, effective menu featuring three recipes. For margherita fans, order the Cheese Slice, made with tomato, mozzarella and pecorino. For purists, the New York-style Pepperoni awaits you, topped with sausages bought from a Parisian butcher. Finally, the third and last recipe, the Ruby, is more daring with its vodka, mozzarella, pecorino and pesto sauce. And to round off your trip across the Atlantic in style, why not treat yourself to some cannolo or ricotta cream?
Now, on the price front, we’re a long way from the famous $1 slice of pizza that New Yorkers enjoy every day: you’ll have to shell out between €4.90 and €6 for a (generous) slice, depending on the recipe. Nevertheless, there’s no better place in Paris to enjoy this emblematic dish. It’s up to you to try it out!
