To determine this ranking , the study took into account drink prices, the cabs available in the cities, the number of nightclubs and the price of public transport. The study reveals that Montpellier stands out as THE top destination for partygoers, scoring 85.19/100. The city’s assets? Numerous bars (5.19 bars per km²), relatively affordable prices: a beer costs an average of €5.49, while a glass of wine is €7.73. What’s more, transport costs remain reasonable compared to other cities. For example, a public transport ticket is €1.60. In second place is Lille, with a score of 80.71/100. With 10.72 bars per km² and 0.34 nightclubs per km², the capital of Flanders offers a lively nightlife. Prices are slightly higher than in Montpellier for beers (€5.92), but the glass of wine is cheaper (€6.52). The City of Light, meanwhile, ranks sixth among the best destinations for partying. Tied with Strasbourg, it scores 76.2/100. Paris boasts a high density of bars , with 105 establishments per km², and a notable presence of nightclubs, with 30.57 clubs per km². However, the price of drinks is much higher. On average, a beer costs €7.49 and a glass of wine €8.60. The price of transport also weighs on the scale… In last place in this ranking is Marseille. The Phocaean city has everything to please: its sun, its beach and its lively streets! However, the study reveals that Marseille isn’t quite as exciting at night, with a score of 53.58/100, the lowest in the ranking. The city boasts a bar density of 240.6 bars per km², which, while impressive on the surface, balances with a relatively low nightclub density (0.083 per km²), limiting options. On the price side, a beer sells for an average of €5.84, and a glass of wine for €8.01, placing Marseille among the most expensive cities to have a drink.
