Which is the best bistro in Paris? Who will be the sausage-purée and floating island champions in 2024-2025? Every year, the Trophées Pudlo des Bistrots honors the best establishments in Paris. So who are the big winners of this 2024-2025 edition? The jury for this competition, organized since 2022, has just announced its verdict and revealed the names of the seven best addresses of the genre! So grab your forks and checkered napkins, and let’s get down to business!
The Pudlo Bistro Trophies
Ah, the capital’s bistros! People flock to them at lunchtime and in the evenings to enjoy traditional or revisited versions of French gastronomic classics! Bistrots (with or without a “t” at the end, by the way) are synonymous with family-style, home-cooked cuisine with a good taste of the terroir! The bistrot is the realm of leek and vinaigrette, terrine, savory heaven and chocolate mousse as good as grandma’s!
Parisian life without a bistro isn’t worth living, is it? To celebrate these tables, an integral part of Parisian heritage (and our social life), Gilles Pudlowski, the gastronomic critic and great admirer of French cuisine and bistros, launched the Trophées Pudlo des Bistrots in 2022. Each year, this ceremony rewards the best restaurants of the genre, from the oldest to the most recent, and testifies to the dynamism of this scene!
The capital’s best bistros, seven addresses that count
Last year, the famous Moulin à Vent in the 5th arrondissement had the honor of winning the famous Pudlo! Who will succeed it in 2024?
The ceremony for the new edition of the Trophées Pudlo des Bistrots took place on Monday November 18, 2024, and here are the winners:
In the “Bistro of the Year” category, La Grille Montorgueil (50 rue de Montorgueil, 75002 Paris) won the award. Located just a stone’s throw from Les Halles, this century-old establishment makes no secret of its love of local cuisine and products made from the heart! On the menu: meat, fish and game, croque monsieur with fried brie, snail tarts or a beef-confit burger!
And that’s not all, as other restaurants were also honored with Pudlo Trophies. Here are the rest of the winners:
– In the “Chef of the Year” category: Victoria Boller of Aux Lyonnais (32 Rue Saint-Marc, 75002 Paris).
– In the “Jeunes bistrotiers” category: Nicolas Gounse and Romain Gastel du Guersant (30 Boulevard Gouvion-Saint-Cyr, 75017 Paris).
– In the “Transmission” category, the duo of Romain and Robert Vidal, father and son, from the bistro Le Sully (6 Boulevard Henri IV, 75004 Paris).
– In the “Welcome and conviviality” category: Anne-Cécile Faye of Sancerre Rive Gauche (20 Avenue Rapp, 75007 Paris).
– In the “Art de vivre et tradition” category: Le Chantefable (93 Avenue Gambetta, 75020 Paris)
– And in the “Bistrot canaille” category: Quedubon (22 Rue du Plateau, 75019 Paris)
Now that we’ve got that list of great places to eat, let’s get down to the bistros!
