The Alexandre III Bridge, a favorite with future brides and grooms
How can we talk about Paris without mentioning the Alexandre III Bridge. The Pont des Arts, Paris’s lovers’ bridge par excellence
The Pont des Arts, affectionately known as the pont des amours, has recently been given a facelift. The floor has been completely changed, and the candelabras have been restored to their former beauty. Although lovers used to hang padlocks to symbolize their love, these had to be removed for safety reasons. Nevertheless, it remains one of the most popular bridges in Paris.
The Bir Hakeim bridge: for film lovers
This mythical Parisian bridge has … 118 years old ! Thanks to him, line 6 has become aerial, allowing you to fly over Paris and admire the Eiffel Tower for a brief moment. You may recognize him from Christopher Nolan’s Inception or Louis Malle’s classic Ascenseur pour l’échafaud.
The Buttes Chaumont footbridge, a bucolic escape
This magnificent footbridge suspended in the heart of the buttes Chaumont park will take you to new heights! Perched over 8 metres high, it sways lightly beneath your feet, like a monkey bridge. Designed by Gustave Eiffel, the Buttes Chaumont footbridge will make you feel like you’re no longer in Paris.
Pont Neuf, the oldest bridge in Paris
You may not have known it, but the Pont Neuf is the oldest bridge in Paris. The latter was completed in 1607. Like the Pont des Arts, the Pont Neuf was also home to lovers’ padlocks. But in 2018, to safeguard it, they had to be removed.
