With just a few weeks to go before the start of the Olympic Games in Paris, the whole capital is getting into the spirit. Opening ceremony, rings installed on the Eiffel Tower or official poster games fever can be felt just a few weeks before kick-off. And if the installations at the Olympic venues make traffic difficult in the capital, we may have a solution for you: floating cabs!
Floating cabs on the Seine in Paris this summer
If the flying cabs has all but fallen through, floating cabs are a reality. This new mobility service, dubbed “Taxis Paris Seine”, has just been launched a few weeks ahead of the major sporting event. The idea? Offer races on the Seine, linking the Louvre and La Bourdonnais, in direct proximity to the Eiffel Tower. Bookable online, these cabs actually operate like VTCs and are just as easy to use.
As far as prices are concerned, it should be noted that this offer is currently aimed primarily at groups, as it will cost €145 for 6, or €25 per person. For the time being, the service is limited to these two stops, but its ambition is to become more democratic and sustainable, so that it can be extended to other iconic locations in the capital.
So, if you’re looking for an easy way to get around on the water, while admiring some beautiful monuments, this could be the solution for you.
