Who said you can’t have your cake and eat it too? A few days ago, the very first butter bar opened its doors in Paris, in the 15th arrondissement. Behind the “Butter Shop” concept is Erwan, its founder. He decided to open this shop—100% dedicated to butter—in response to the craze among foodies worldwide for this dairy product made by churning cow’s milk cream. A (not-so) guilty pleasure that we love to add to our dishes and spread on a nice, crispy Parisian baguette.
The first butter shop has opened in Paris!

Classic butter, Madagascar pepper butter, seaweed butter, Espelette pepper butter, or even shallot butter… At the Butter Shop, there’s something for every taste! Even more unusual: butters flavored with vanilla, raspberry, or even chocolate. It reminds us of Paris’s first flan bar—but in an even more surprising version, since these aren’t desserts, but butter!
Seaweed butter, shallot butter, chocolate butter… 30 varieties to savor

In total, the shop offers no fewer than 30 varieties of butter. Among them are premium butters served in the capital’s Michelin-starred restaurants , as well as a lovely selection of gourmet items, such as Edmond Fallot mustards and fine wines. Another highlight? A massive, ultra-Instagrammable cone of fleur de sel butter, as well as the chance to sample the butters on-site, with a complimentary vacuum-sealed package of the buttery treat of your choice.
Why are all the influencers flocking to Paris’s first butter bar?

Since it opened, Instagrammers from all walks of life have been flocking to the Butter Shop. Americans, Japanese, Spaniards, Portuguese, Italians… they’re all rushing there to create content. It must be said that the hype surrounding single-product concepts is nothing new. Pistachio bars, chocolate mousse bars, tiramisu bars… these spots sometimes make those who associate “bars” with a very boho-chic concept cringe .
Here, the flavors, textures, origins, and colors seem endless, making you want to taste everything on a rotating butter display. It’s enough to turn heads, tantalize the taste buds, and pique your curiosity. But is the culinary experience at Paris’s first butter bar really worth the trip? We might tell you more very soon in an upcoming video on Paris Secret…
