Snoopy visits Paris! The world of Charles Schulz ‘s famous comics will be celebrated in a free exhibition. Snoopy In Style: A History of Peanuts and Fashion will explore the aesthetic dimension of the work and its links with fashion and designers!
A Snoopy exhibition to celebrate 75 years of comics
Happy birthday Snoopy! To celebrate its 75th birthday, the comic strip Peanuts (better known, in France, as Snoopy or Charlie Brown) is hosting an exhibition with a celebratory air! Snoopy In Style: A History of Peanuts and Fashion will take up residence in a private mansion in the Marais district of Paris, to present a plunge into the comic strip ‘s singular aesthetic universe!
Snoopy, stories of style and fashion
For this exploration, Snoopy In Style: A History of Peanuts and Fashion will feature plates from the comics, dolls bearing the characters’ likenesses, and unique objects from museum collections!
Along the way, we’ll learn, for example, that Charles “Sparky” Schulz had a special relationship with clothing. Photo archives and some of the clothes that once belonged to him will be there to prove it!
How can we talk about the Snoopy aesthetic without dwelling on the look of his characters? The exhibition will highlight the unique style of each of them! You’ll also be able to admire Snoopy and Belle dolls given makeovers by renowned designers (Karl Lagerfeld, Giorgio Armani, Issey Miyake…), the fruit of the creative partnership between Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and Charles Schulz, and marvel at the merchandising marketed by Determined Productions!
And because Snoopy continues to inspire contemporary designers and appeal to all generations, a section of the exhibition will be dedicated to more contemporary collaborations with ready-to-wear brands (from Lacoste to Vans, via Uniqlo!).
