Honored in Lyon at the end of last year, the brilliant Wes Anderson will have his first Paris retrospective this year. A tribute to his colorful and atypical universe, this exhibition will be one of the cultural highlights of the season in Paris, and what better institution than the Cinémathèque to host this lovely event? See you this Wednesday, March 19!
A major Wes Anderson retrospective soon in Paris
Colorful, full of detail, symmetrical and a little zany, Wes Anderson’s universe could be recognized among thousands of others, and there are countless fans of his cinema in Paris. So, they and all cinephiles will have something to rejoice about after this announcement: in March this year, the Cinémathèque will host a major exhibition dedicated to the filmmaker and his work. More precisely, from March 19 to July 27, 2025, the Cinémathèque will be the setting for this major retrospective.
Numerous items will be on display, including some from the director’s personal collection. Costumes, accessories and a host of other items will be on display. From The Tenenbaum Family to Asteroid City, not forgetting The Grand Budapest Hotel and Fantastic Mr Fox, all Wes Andersin’s feature films will be in the spotlight, giving visitors a behind-the-scenes look at these monuments to cinema.
After a superb exhibition dedicated to James Cameron, another genius filmmaker will be on show. The only drawback is that we’ll have to wait until 2025 to enjoy this fine tribute. In the meantime, we’ve been able to wait and admire Paris imagined in the director’s aesthetic.
With just a few days to go before the exhibition opens, film buffs everywhere are trembling with anticipation, especially as the exhibition’s itinerary promises to be truly exceptional!
