In parallel with the Paris Paralympic Games, the restaurant Sélune is hosting a singular event, with the air of a culinary marathon. Some thirty chefs will take turns in the kitchen from September 5 to 9, delivering ten courses as a team. This initiative is supported by Paralympic athletes and its profits will be donated to the NGO PLAY International. Want to take part? You can do so by reserving your table!
The Sélune culinary marathon, the event that marries sport and cuisine
Don’t sport and catering share a few values? Like challenging oneself, teamwork, sharing emotions, taste for challenge or curiosity for others? The list is far from exhaustive. We could cite other common points that link these seemingly rather detached universes!
While Paris is currently hosting the Paralympic Games, a Parisian chef, Bérengère Fagart and two Paralympic athletes, Arnaud Assoumani and Marie Patouillet, are teaming up to cross the two disciplines! In her restaurant Sélune (in the 11th arrondissement), the chef is hosting a culinary marathon of a new kind, which also aims to support France’s Paralympic team and handisport. And you can attend as a customer!
What makes this operation all the more exceptional is that its profits will go to the NGO PLAY International, whose actions are focused on education through sport and on a better recognition of disability!
A 5-day event where some thirty chefs⸱fe⸱s will compete
From Thursday, September 5 to Sunday, September 9, it’ll be the course chez Sélune! No fewer than 30 chefs from diverse backgrounds and who don’t necessarily know each other will take turns in the kitchen. They will compete, in imposed teams, to provide several services per day (two at lunch, three at dinner).
In the kitchen, it’s going to get down to the nitty-gritty of creating sparks and high-flying plates! The chefs have been chosen for their talent and their deep love of good food! They’re also keen to add their own personal touch, to shake up the culinary scene in the right direction, and why not society too! No doubt the plates will reflect this challenge and these values!
To support the initiative, book your table at Sélune! You won’t know which team you’ll run into, but you’ll be guaranteed to enjoy competitive dishes!
