In a new study carried out by Adobe Express, Paris was crowned the world’s leading cultural city, ahead of major cities such as New York, London and Berlin. The City of Light has a lot to offer: theaters, museums, exhibitions… There’s always something to see and do in Paris. We tell you all about it.
Paris voted best cultural city in the world
To carry out this study, Adobe Express compared several key points such as the number of art galleries and museums, theaters, historic sites, attractions, libraries and works of art. Each city was then given a score out of 10.
Paris scored a handsome 8.52/10, beating out Europe’s finest capitals and the world’s megacities such as Brussels, Rome, Tokyo and New York.
The City of Light’s rich heritage has helped it to the top of this ranking. Indeed, the city boasts the highest number of publicly accessible works of art (3,729), compared with 1,548 in London, for example. What’s more, it’s in Paris that you’ ll find the most outstanding theaters and tourist attractions to see, such as Versailles and art galleries.
Just behind is London, with a score of 8 .34/10. The British capital offers a multitude of artistic activities, and is home to 500 art galleries and museums. A real playground to explore, just two hours from Paris!
In third place was Berlin with a score of 8.04/10. However, it ranks second in terms of the number of historic sites (4,738), just behind Vienna, which boasts 5,477 historic points of interest.
Even more astonishing is the fact that the Serenissima, Venice, occupies 40th place in this ranking, with a cultural score of just 2.87/10.
Not all cities score as high as Paris, but they’re still worth a weekend or extended stay. So stay curious and keep exploring the world around you!
