As you know, when summer rolls around, open-air movie theaters are among the most enjoyable activities to treat yourself to. Among the most beautiful in Paris are the one at the Monnaie de Paris and the iconic La Villette cinema. But the one that will undoubtedly transport you to another world is the one nestled in the courtyard of the Château de Blandy-les-Tours. This hidden medieval village in Seine-et-Marne is home to a magnificent castle. And in August, it will undoubtedly host the most beautiful outdoor movie theater in the Île-de-France region for three exceptional free nights.
A free open-air movie theater hidden in a medieval castle
This magnificent castle, located about an hour from Paris, is absolutely stunning. After enchanting us last May with its medieval festival, the castle will host an open-air movie theater in its courtyard this coming August.

On Wednesdays, August 12, 19, and 26, moviegoers can watch or rewatch cult classics screened for free on the ramparts of the 13th-century castle as night falls. As for the lineup, you can see Disney’s The Lion King on August 12, Fantastic Beasts on August 19, and Sing 2 on August 26. Three family-friendly films, three completely different atmospheres that will transport you to another world for an evening.
To attend, there’s no need to register in advance or pay anything: all three evenings are completely free. We do recommend, however, that you arrive early to secure the best spot for you and your family.
