Parisians woke up to a big surprise this morning: the Iron Lady was adorned with the magnificent Olympic rings last night, kicking off the final stretch before the start of the great sporting festival. Weighing in at 30 tonnes, they represent a certain technical and industrial prowess, in addition to their great symbolic value.

As the fateful date of July 26, marking the start of the Paris Olympic Games, approaches, we have more and more information about the great sporting extravaganza. Opening ceremony, surprise ticket sales and even official poster games fever is in full swing with just a few weeks to go. And today, a new sign shows us that, more than ever, the Games are just around the corner! As of Friday June 7, Paris’s most iconic landmark now sports the Olympic rings between its second and third floors.
15 metres high, 29 metres wide and weighing 30 tonnes, this is the XXL size of the steel structure that saw the light of day. Hand in hand, teams from ArcelorMittal and the Eiffel Tower operating company rose to the challenge, and here’s the result!
