The Olympic flame will shine brightly for over a month in Paris. But when will you be able to admire its brilliance? Here’s everything you need to know to make sure you don’t miss out on one of the highlights of the year Olympic Games Paris 2024.
The Olympic flame arrives in Paris on July 14 and 15
The Olympic torch relay across France will start on May 8 from Marseille and run until July 26, when the Olympic Games begin olympic games. She will be in Paris on July 14 and 15 for an exceptional tour. A symbol of peace, unity and friendship between peoples, the Olympic flame will bring together 10,000 scouts, both well-known and unknown.
Paris 2024: where can you see the flame sparkle in Paris?
The flame will pass by some of Paris’s most historic landmarks, and will be relayed to points that mark its history. This was the case at the Bataclan, the Bastille, the National Assembly and the Eiffel Tower of course. Strong cultural sites, iconic, sporty and popular neighborhoods, and monuments that make Paris the capital we know and love. In all, the lucky relay runners will cover 31 kilometers on July 14 and 27.5 kilometers on July 15. A unique and historic show, totally free and accessible to all during the Olympic Games.
An evening party will be held during the night of July 14-15 to celebrate the torch relay. The latter will rest in front of the town hall before continuing its journey across the rest of the country.
This Thursday, July 25, the Olympic flame begins its final journey through Saint-Denis. Snoop Dog, Laetitia Casta and Sergei Bubka will be carrying the flame all day long. This morning, the flame will pass through Noisy-le-Grand, Tremblay-en-France, wind through the streets of Montreuil, then Bagnolet, before skirting the sublime Canal de l’Ourcq.
By 2pm, the flame will be in Romainville, then passing through La Courneuve and Drancy, close to the Shoah memorial. Finally, at around 6pm, Pierrefitte-sur-Seine will welcome the flame, before it ends its journey at Parc Georges-Valbon, in La Courneuve. It’s here, in this super fan zone, that a free concert by Gazo and singer Adèle Castillon will take place from 8pm.
She’ll be back to light up the opening ceremony on July 26 at the Tuileries Gardens for his last trip. This will shine throughout the garden games, day and night. The hot-air balloon will rise into the heavens every evening to the delight of passers-by.
