As you know, the new rail-based metro continues to expand… and summer is the perfect time for major changes. Following Line 10 and Line 7bis, the new metro will continue its route, this time expanding to two other Paris metro lines.
The new MF19 metro continues its rollout
This summer, work on the MF19 extension continues! The rail-based metro system , known for being faster and more modern than ever, will be partially put into service on two metro lines as early as 2027. These are Line 7bis and Line 13, which is known as “one of the worst metro lines in Paris” according to the riders themselves…
Currently, several reliability tests are being conducted on Line 13 to verify that the equipment is functioning properly and is compatible with the new infrastructure that has been put in place. Passengers will thus be able to start riding the new trains in 2027. And these trains promise real comfort for passengers: reversible air conditioning, USB ports for charging phones, more comfortable seats… In short, on paper, it certainly sounds appealing.
While you can already ride it on Lines 10 and 7bis, the new metro is expected to be fully operational sometime in 2033, with full automation anticipated by 2035.
