A short while ago, we introduced you to the world’s best Italian restaurant – and yes, it’s in Paris. Today, how would you like to feast your eyes (and taste buds) on the most beautiful Italian restaurant in Paris? Rumor has it that it serves the best truffle pasta, as well as a typical tiramisu that rivals those served in Italy. Have you recognized it?
In Paris, this spectacularly decorated restaurant is like no other…
Head for the lively Pigalle district in Paris’s 9th arrondissement. On Rue de Douai, a huge pink brick building rises four storeys. Since its opening in 2013, this restaurant has been the talk of the town. Every evening, queues lengthen in front of the aptly named Pink Mamma. And regulars of Big Mamma group establishments – such as La Felicità, Ober Mamma or Big Love – will no doubt agree: Pink Mamma is, without a doubt, the most beautiful Italian restaurant in Paris! But what makes this Italian restaurant so special that it’s considered the most beautiful in the capital?
The most Instagrammable address in the 9th arrondissement
Behind its plant-covered façade, this 720 m2 transalpine restaurant is spread over four levels. And each floor is a unique interpretation of the traditional Italian trattoria. The highlight of the show? Pink Mamma’s top floor, where a glass roof bathed in natural light brings together foodies and influencers to immortalize the moment. Access is via a wooden spiral staircase, lined with hanging plants and vintage frames that are already catching the eye.
Truffle pasta, tiramisu and an Italian speakeasy hidden in the basement…
And when it comes to cuisine, Pink Mamma doesn’t do things by halves. Here, you’ll enjoy typical, generous Italian cuisine. On the menu: Pugliese burrata, homemade lasagne, airy pizzas and truffle pasta are the talk of Paris. It has to be said that at Pink Mamma, a meal is transformed into a culinary extravaganza. The restaurant boasts a 3-meter-long grill, and it’s not uncommon to see waiters grating truffle shavings directly onto plates.
And the surprises don ‘t stop there. In the basement of the restaurant, a bar hides behind a cold room: No Entry, the most Italian speakeasy in Paris. In this hidden bar, la dolce vita meets the spirit of Prohibition. From its light-filled glass roof with a view over Paris to its ultra-confidential basement, Pink Mamma is a spectacle in itself.
The most beautiful Italian restaurant in Paris? Certainly – but not only.
