Gaël Orieux opened Restaurant Auguste in 2004, when he left the kitchens of Le Meurice as assistant to Yannick Alleno. In the capital’s 7ᵉ arrondissement, we head to this establishment to treat ourselves to a star-studded lunch. What’s on the menu? Sweet and sour chicken egg and buckwheat crumble with truffles as a starter. Main course: the day’s catch, depending on what arrives from the French coast (+10€) or beef “spooned” with horseradish, served with spring onions in apple vinegar and smoked eggplant. For dessert, enjoy a delicious ivory and lemon chocolate ganache with mandarin and pansy flower sorbet.
