Halloween is the perfect time to get spooked! Did you know that some Parisian homes have a reputation for being haunted? Here are the most terrifying houses to see. Sensitive souls, please refrain!
Villa Bela Kiss – One of the most beautiful abandoned houses in Paris
But why was such a house, not far from Paris, abandoned? That’s what you might think when you see this majestic building. Some say that a family had to leave the house following the tragic death of one of the siblings. Others tell of a dark inheritance dispute that divided a family of Armenian jewelers… In any case, the place has a particularly mysterious atmosphere. Although today the site has found a new owner, a few years ago it was still a popular Urbex spot. A must-see during Halloween or el dia de los muertos.

Villa Frochot – One of the most haunted houses in Paris
Known to all Parisians for its legend, the Villa Frochot is one of the most haunted places in Paris. It’s said that even the singer Sylvie Vartan ended up packing her bags shortly after moving in. The reason for all these ghostly rumors? The bloody murder of a former maid… She is now said to haunt the premises, to the great misfortune of all who cross her path…

Joachim Kroll Manor – A real horror movie set
This sublime Gothic manor house has been the subject of some sordid rumors. Some claim it witnessed two terrifying murders: a baby devoured by cats and an old lady murdered with a knife through the skull. What’s certain is that since a wealthy Iranian bought the house in 1998 (and then abandoned it), the mystery remains. Could this house be haunted? With its look straight out of a horror movie, you’d think so! In any case, we’re not going to risk setting foot in it!

Pavlovich Manor – One of the houses haunted by a sad fate
This manor house has had a serious reputation as a haunted house for over 10 years. And with good reason: its story is as sordid as it is unbelievable, and bloodcurdling. The story goes that the former owner’s wife died in agony following a terrible car accident. Her husband, a doctor, could do nothing to help her. Others claim the woman survived, but with a totally disfigured face that frightened her husband away… Alone and abandoned, she eventually let herself die in her mansion. However, the owners of this mansion never stayed very long. Strange noises and supernatural manifestations have been reported… A real Halloween setting.

Le domaine des trois colonnes – A magnificent estate haunted by a dark history
This Anglo-Norman manor house, nestled in the village of Angevilliers, was once a sublime three-storey residence. But it suffered horrors during the Second World War… One of the families to have occupied the premises, of Jewish origin, was struck by an unprecedented tragedy: the husband, seeing the Nazis coming, committed suicide. The wife, meanwhile, was deported to Auschwitz, never to be seen again. Since then, the house has had another owner before finally falling into ruin…

Le château de la solitude – A dark place in the heart of a forest near Paris
The name alone conjures up the greatest horror stories. And yet, the Château de la solitude has had a very different destiny from the one you might think. Originally owned by a wealthy Parisian chocolatier, it was converted into a convent during the 1st World War, before becoming a home and training center for young single mothers. Two fires have destroyed its roof, giving it an even more horrific air… No one knows if ghosts lurk there, but if in doubt, we’d rather not go there.
