Every year, the Marche des Fiertés welcomes half a million people from the Paris region. Organized by some sixty associations LGBTQI+ for over 20 years, this is a major annual event. Both festive and protesting, the march aims to demand equal rights for homosexuals and the LGBT community. Although floats have been a thing of the past since 2022, this new edition is sure to be just as joyful and colorful as previous years. In Paris, this will begin on June 29. Here’s the full program.

On June 29, the Marche des Fiertés 2024 will kick off in Paris, starting at 1pm with a speech. Then, at around 2 p.m., the procession will set off for a joyful and lively march. At 4:30 pm, three minutes’ silence will be called in Tribute to the victims of HIV/AIDS. Then, between 5 pm and 10:30 pm, the procession will end its journey on the Place de la République, where numerous free events are expected to take place. Activists and spectators alike may be lucky enough to witness drag shows or concerts with the artists of the moment.
This year, however, and since 2022, there will be no tanks. The idea is to make the event as eco-responsible as possible, and avoid unnecessary Co2 emissions. These were very useful, however, as they enabled LGBTQI+ associations to make themselves known. Colorful, they were also used to broadcast music. Each float had its own atmosphere and universe.
We don’t yet know the exact program, but we’ll keep you informed.
