We know the metro like the back of our hand. Its jingle, its stations… but do you know this tip that can literally change your journey? Imagine: it’s morning rush hour, and you’re rushing to catch the metro… And then, once you’re at the ticket gate, disaster strikes. You realize you haven’t brought your Navigo pass with you. You have two choices: force your way through (and risk getting a fine later during ticket inspections…which we obviously recommend you don’t do) or turn back home and waste precious minutes… That was the classic scenario if you didn’t know about the third option: the emergency ticket. It’s a kind of super joker created by the RATP to help the forgetful! Here’s how to get one.
An emergency ticket if you forget your Navigo pass
Forgot your pass? Since September 2019, the RATP has been offering a free emergency ticket valid for the entire day. Requesting one is very simple. Just ask a sales agent and show your ID at the ticket window. After verifying your identity and subscription, the agent will give you an emergency ticket that can be used all day. The passes covered are the annual pass, Imagine R, Améthyste, and Navigo Mois. With the coupon, you can use the entire network (metro, RER, tram, bus, etc.).

This coupon is also issued if your pass is faulty, lost, or stolen. However, please note that, regardless of the reason, you can only request the coupon twice a year. After that, you will have to pay for a ticket!
