This year, more than 5 million people in the Paris region will have a Navigo pass. This pass is essential for getting around, not only at work, but also just about anywhere in Paris. But did you know that it has other, lesser-known advantages? Here are seven things you may not have known about the Navigo pass.
You can put your Navigo pass on your iPhone and Apple Watch

After a two-year wait, Apple users will finally be able to use their Navigo pass with their iPhone and Apple Watch. You’ll be able to use this feature in express mode and with a low battery. You’ll also be able to see the current traffic situation, as well as train departures and arrivals, and even buy tickets. To add your pass, you’ll need the latest iOS update. Then press the “+” button in the top right-hand corner of your phone’s “maps” application, and add your Navigo pass to the “Transport card” list. Unfortunately, Navigo passes Imagine R, liberté +, the annual pass and tickets outside Paris are not yet available in dematerialized form. So you’ll have to be patient a little longer!

Forgot your Navigo pass? An emergency coupon is available!

Now that’s a scenario we’d really like to avoid. Imagine: you’re on your way to your metro station, ready to attack your day’s work… when you realize you don’t have your Navigo pass on you….
Fortunately, since September 2019, RATP has been offering you a free “troubleshooting coupon” for the day. To request it, simply approach a sales agent with your ID. Once you’ve obtained it, you can travel as normal on all the zones covered by your navigo pass.
However, if you’re really absent-minded, you can only apply for this pass twice a year.
And as an added bonus, this benefit also works if your pass is faulty!
The Navigo pass allows you to go to the little corner in certain stations for free.

For the past month, you’ve been able to use the toilets at major stations in the Paris region without paying a single cent, thanks to your Navigo pass. In detail, you can use the toilets at the following stations free of charge:
- Marne-la-Vallée Chessy station
- Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle station
- Montparnasse station
- Saint-Lazare station
- Gare d’Austerlitz
- Gare du Nord
- Gare de l’Est.
You can park your car or bike for free

If you need to make your first journey by car or bike before taking the metro, the Navigo pass allows you to park your vehicle free of charge. Over 24,000 secure parking spaces are available close to stations. The same applies to bicycle parking, some of which is open-access, sheltered and free of charge. If you have an annual, imagine R or senior pass, you’ll be able to take advantage of them.
It’s free for under-20s
Are you under 20 and living in Paris? You can benefit from a Navigo pass without paying a cent. This applies specifically to holders of mechanical Navigo Imagine’R and/or Vélib’ Métropole “V-Plus Jeune” passes. All you need to do to benefit from this scheme is apply online. All you have to do then is wait a few weeks…
It offers you two carpools a day

Do you have a Navigo or Imagine R subscription? Good news, you can benefit from two free carpooling journeys a day. To do so, go to the Île-de-France Mobilités application to search for a carpooling trip. Then perform a route search and click on the “carpooling” tab. You’ll see a list of available routes with times and prices. Once you’ve booked, the operator takes care of everything, and you won’t have to pay a thing.
