Riders have been hearing it for over 20 years, without even really paying attention… The music of the Île-de-France Mobilités network. Five notes, a sound signature recognizable in a few seconds, that’s the key to this “hit” that accompanies thousands of users every day… But this year, 2026, it could well change completely… From mid-January onwards, it will gradually disappear from our announcements. But music lovers can rest assured that a new jingle will replace it!
New music on the metro in 2026?
It’s an unexpected but highly symbolic change that awaits all users of the Île-de-France Mobilités network. After the significant increase in the Navigo pass(now well over 1,000 euros a year), the network is getting a facelift by announcing the end of its emblematic jingle. Yes, you know, that little melody you used to hear before every announcement. Whether you’re on the platform waiting for your metro, or on the streetcar or bus, you’ re bound to have heard it once.

From mid-January, however, this melody will gradually disappear, to be replaced by a new one. The new melody will be the new signature of Île-de-France Mobilités, and will accompany other changes in the network’s identity, such as the drivers’ uniforms and the sky-blue color, which is now omnipresent.
While the new melody has not yet been unveiled, we do know that it should be heard around mid-January. The jingle will then be gradually rolled out across the network! What do you think of this change?
