One year after the parade of athletes from the Paris 2024 Games, sport is taking over the heart of the capital once again. On Sunday, September 14, 2025, the Rue de Rivoli will be transformed into the Boulevard du Sport, a giant space over 2 km long dedicated entirely to the practice of sport.
this weekend, the Fête du Sport brings the heart of Paris to life
From the Concorde to the Hôtel de Ville, Parisians and visitors are invited to enjoy an exceptional day. Between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., some 50 sports federations will be on hand to offer initiations, demonstrations and meetings with champions. The aim is clear: to make sport accessible to all and extend the legacy of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
On the menu:
- Free introductions to new disciplines, from soccer and judo to basketball and cycling.
- Meetings with Olympic and Paralympic athletes, to exchange and share experiences.
- Unusual and inclusive events, designed for all audiences, with or without disabilities.
- Spectacular performances by champions such as Florent Manaudou, Arthur Bauchet and Marie-José Pérec, this year’s patrons.
- All along the route, emblematic sites will punctuate the festivities, transforming the rue de Rivoli into a veritable sports village.
The Fête du Sport is part of the legacy of Paris 2024 and the Grande Cause Nationale du Sport. With more than 4,000 events taking place across France from September 6 to 21, the aim is twofold: to remind people that sport is a formidable vehicle for social cohesion, and to encourage everyone to adopt regular physical activity.
In Paris, the day will close with a symbolic moment: the extinction of the Vasque de Paris 2024, which will shine one last time before being extinguished until next summer.
