On September 28 and 29 the libraries and media libraries of France (and Paris) will be celebrating! They’re hosting the first edition of Biblis en Folie, a free event packed with festive and cultural entertainment! We reveal the Parisian program!
Biblis en folie, the big cultural festival for libraries and media libraries
Places of culture, encounters and accessibility for all, France’s 15,500 libraries and mediatheques are a precious asset on the territory. Who hasn’t set foot in one to work in a studious atmosphere, borrow a novel, a comic book or enjoy an exhibition?
Throughout the year, these structures offer an abundance of multicultural programming, and at the end of September, they’ll be launching the first edition of Biblis en folie. From September 28 to 29, the libraries and media libraries will roll out in unison a festive and cultural program. And it’s all free!
An eclectic program of events, workshops and screenings
In Paris, as elsewhere, libraries and media libraries will be pulling out all the stops for this moment of encounter with the public. Exchanges with authors, readings, workshops, screenings, tours or exhibitions, it’s a touchy-touchy program on offer!
Among the highlights in the capital, don’t miss the told tour of the Bnf (site Richelieu) in the form of an investigation led by little bookworms, or Press Start, the video game festival at the Bpi du Centre Pompidou.
In Paris’s other libraries and mediatheques, we won’t be outdone either!
In the 17th arrondissement, for example, the Médiathèque Edmond Rostand will be exploring the links between Surrealism and photography on the occasion of the artistic movement’s centenary. Another place, another atmosphere, as the Bibliothèque Jacqueline de Romilly (in the 18th arrondissement) invites you to a most surprising Bal Renaissance! At the Médiathèque des Quais (94220 Charenton-le-Pont), place for children aged 5 to 9 who are invited to discover the Slavic tale Baba Yaga during a narrator-tapis!
Other structures will also be offering a conference on wax (Médiathèque Des Chartreux, 92130 Issy-les-Moulineaux), a robotics workshop for children (Médiathèque André Cancelier, 95110 Sannois) or a broc aux livres (Médiathèque Jacques Prévert, 92700 Colombes).
