A waterfall just a stone’s throw from Paris
The Chevreuse Valley is a wonderful open-air playground for all nature lovers. But few people know that there’s a little corner of paradise that’s truly refreshing, perfect for the season… Indeed, thisparadise on earth is home to a waterfall about two meters high, completely surrounded by nature. With its different tiers of cascading water, the sight is truly magical and is sure to refresh you.
The Vaux de Cernay waterfall is entirely man-made, yet nothing detracts from its beauty! Hidden deep in the heart of the forest, just off a trail, it was once owned by the monks of the Vaux de Cernay Abbey. A breathtakingly beautiful abbey, well known for its lavish brunch in a setting worthy of Hogwarts.

But be careful: while you might be able to dip your toes in,swimming in this waterfall is strictly prohibited for health reasons. We therefore advise you to take every possible precaution during your walk and simply enjoy the refreshing setting.
Getting there couldn’t be easier: just take the RER B to Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse, then bus line 39-17 to Cernay-la-Ville. From there, a pleasant path along the abbey will lead you to this true paradise! A perfect place to escape the heatwave.
