We’re not telling you anything new—the heat is back and seems to be settling in for good in Paris. After days and days of rain, the sun is finally making an appearance, much to the delight of Parisians. But it’s accompanied by heat that’s sometimes stifling, with temperatures nearing 35°C. That’s a rise of more than 15°C above seasonal norms, so much so that from Wednesday the 27th through Saturday, the capital is under an orange heat wave alert. But in a dramatic turn of events, starting this Sunday, temperatures are expected to drop drastically, from 32°C to 22°C! Here’s the scoop…
A sudden drop in temperatures in 24 hours in Paris
Unbelievable but true! After days of sweltering under an average of 30°C, Parisians will rediscover the cool summer weather of May. Indeed , overnight from Saturday, May 30, to Sunday, May 31, temperatures will drop drastically, from 32°C to 22°C in 24 hours.

In fact, the high-pressure system responsible for this historic rise in temperatures is expected to begin retreating on Saturday evening, giving way to a cooler oceanic airflow. Northern regions should thus see a lull starting this Saturday, before it reaches the rest of the country on Sunday.
This very last day of the month could actually end in rain for Parisians, with wind gusts reaching up to 35 km/h. Of course, given the highly unpredictable weather of recent months, these forecasts should be taken with a grain of salt and are still subject to change!
