2024: the international year of camelids.
2024 is the world year of artiodactyl mammals. A decision taken by the UN (United Nations Organization) to create an “International Year of the Camelid”. To mark the occasion, is organizing an extraordinary fashion show in Paris. And with good reason: on April 20, 2024, a huge parade will see a whole herd of camels, dromedaries, llamas and alpacas.
“A festival of nomadic cultures
This event, billed as a celebration of nomadic cultures, is organized by the Fédération Française pour le Développement des Camélidés en France et en Europe (FFDCFE). In addition, has obtained the support of UNESCO, the ICO (International Camelids Organization) and the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization). What’s more, this XXL parade has already been authorized by the Préfecture de Police. She also put forward the idea of having the procession pass in front of the Eiffel Tower, before moving on to UNESCO headquarters.
A parade of camels, llamas, dromedaries and alpacas in April in Paris
A total of 32 foreign delegations will be taking part in this extraordinary event, including Egypt, India, Morocco, Tanzania, Canada and the United States, to name but a few. During the parade, each delegation will be followed by llamas, camels, dromedaries or alpacas. To make the event even more successful, folk groups will accompany this incredible parade. Llamas, alpacas, camels, dromedaries… This merry procession will delight the public on April 20, 2024 from 2:30pm.
Please note: no animals will be ridden in this parade. The 32 foreign delegations will be accompanied by French breeders.
