While mobility, and its cost, are at the center of eternal debates in the capital, the price of the Navigo pass being in particular at the heart of speculation, an announcement made by Valérie Pécresse in November had caused teeth to cringe. Indeed, the president of Île de France Mobilités had announced that the price of a single metro ticket would rise from €2.10 to €4 for the duration of the Olympic Games. But from this Monday, the price will return to normal!
Metro ticket prices back to normal
In a video posted on Twitter, Valérie Pécresse had made the announcement that immediately went viral. During the entire Olympic Games, the price of a metro ticket was raised from €2.10 to €4, i.e. almost double the normal price. The booklet, normally priced at €16.90, was until Monday available for €32. Now that this period is over, we can once again offer our tickets at normal prices.
In addition to this rather drastic and radical measure, IDF Mobilités had also announced the creation of a new package aimed at visitors: the Paris 2024 pass. Priced at €16 per day, with a sliding scale depending on the number of days, and €70 per week, this pass gave users access to the entire RATP Ile-de-France network.
Causing an uproar on social networks, Valérie Pécresse nevertheless sought to reassure users, indicating that the prices of monthly and annual Navigo, senior or Imagin’R passes were not affected. Finally, for holders of a Navigo Easy pass, the president of IDFM advised them to “anticipate” and fill in their tickets before July 20.
