A little train that circles between the tables, individual pots integrated into the furniture, a Chinese buffet 2.0 worthy of Shanghai… Welcome to Yu Xiang Ting, one of the most unusual Asian restaurants in Paris. Here, dishes are not served by hand, but delivered à la carte by an autonomous miniature train. An experience as gourmet as it is unusual, to be discovered without delay.
Yu Xiang Ying: Chinese fondue with all-you-can-eat ingredients
Have you ever heard of the Chinese hot pot? In the heart of the 2nd arrondissement, Yu Xiang Ting is revolutionizing the genre with its version of Chinese fondue with all-you-can-eat ingredients. For €29.90, you can feast on the typical dish, adding any ingredients you like, with no limit on quantity. And here, there are no waiters: the dishes are served directly to the tables by a small automated electric train, which is what makes the restaurant so original.
Once seated in this smart canteen with its bright, uncluttered decor, all you have to do is choose the base of your fondue, i.e. the broth. 6 options are available on the menu: tomato, chicken bone, spicy beef butter, braised meat, Chinese sauerkraut or bacon. Then it’s a matter of choosing freely from the ingredients on the table. For example, there are marinated eggs, thin slices of beef, vegetables, wontons, mushrooms, vermicelli and udon noodles. In short, there’s plenty to choose from among the fifty or so ingredients available.
While the restaurant offers tables for lunch or dinner with friends, it’s also possible to come alone and reserve an individual space. Perfect for introverts or those looking for a little peace and quiet.
