Paris has no shortage of unusual and historic places to charm us. There’s a restaurant over 400 years old, a café that has spanned kings and eras, and a guinguette that inspired romantic painters… Today, we take you to a rather unusual store: the smallest cabinet de curiosités in Paris. A charming place, nestled in the heart of Montmartre, that you’re sure to love!
The smallest cabinet of curiosities in Paris, but also one of the most charming
Fans of cabinets of curiosities are at least familiar with Deyrolle, founded in 1831. But few are familiar with L’Objet qui parle, a tiny store taller than it is wide by barely a few square meters, hidden away in the 18ᵉ. Half-brocante, half-curiosity cabinet, you’ll find objects that have stood the test of time, and have a real soul.

Founded by Guillaume Bernard, a passionate secondhand dealer for almost 30 years, the store offers completely authentic objects, sometimes shaken by time and with no hierarchy of value.

Dolls, toys, jewelry boxes from the 50s, 60s, curious objects from the XXᵉ century… But also religious objects, small poetic statuettes… Each object has a past, sometimes a curious use, and represents an art of living that fascinates Guillaume. Thanks to his sharp eye, you can be sure of never finding the same object. Here, in this cheerful hodgepodge, you’ll have fun playing treasure hunt to unearth your nugget, and give it a second lease of life. The store is so small that it’s not uncommon to see the rest of the merchandise spread out over various displays…

There’s something quite magical about Objet qui parle! A veritable Ali Baba’s cave, where you won’t see time passing before your eyes!
