Heritage Days will take place on September 19 and 20, 2026. This is an opportunity for the French public to discover magnificent sites, some of which are usually closed to the public. This year, a new feature will be available to visitors: the Heritage Pass. It will allow you to visit nearly 500 monuments, museums, castles, and gardens for free and with ease! Here’s how it works.
A Heritage Pass Scheduled for September
Officially launching this coming September during the Fondation du Patrimoine’s annual registration period, this pass—which works like a monthly subscription—will let you visit exceptional sites for free and with ease. For about 100 euros, it will open the doors to around 500 sites, such as the Palace of Versailles, the Château de Chambord, the Château de Fontainebleau, and the Château de Chantilly! Of course, this offer covers the whole of France. Plenty to see!
Various plans will be available—solo, duo, or family—so you can explore every hidden gem of our beloved France. The goal? To provide partner sites with additional revenue by increasing visitor numbers throughout the year.
