The Mysterious World of Edgar Allan Poe: A Halloween Like No Other
From October 5 to 31, the museum is taking a break to embrace the mysterious! Here, there are no haunted houses or cheap scares—instead, we’re focusing on a cinematic atmosphere, illusions, and the fascinating world of Edgar Allan Poe, with “The Raven” taking center stage.
Starting in early October, the museum’s decor takes on a Poe-inspired theme, making your visit even more immersive. And for those who love puzzles, there are two events to mark on your calendar:
- The Raven Scavenger Hunt (early October through November 1): a trail dotted with clues and puzzles, reimagined this year around the raven and Poe’s world. An ideal activity for the All Saints’ Day break, to enjoy with family or friends—with a surprise at the end! (for ages 7 and up)
- Raven Nights (October 24–31): special evening openings from 7 p.m. to midnight, featuring a magician and a hypnotist to blur the line between reality and illusion even further!
Zero Gravity Room, Water Paradox, Red and Blue Room: paradoxes you absolutely must try
Buckle up. We’re kicking things off with a bang with the Zero Gravity Room, a one-of-a-kind experience in France that, as its name suggests, lets you literally walk with your feet facing the ceiling. In Water Paradox, the experience puts the speed at which our retinas perceive things to the test: here, you genuinely get the impression that water is flowing from the bottom up. The result is truly mind-blowing.
For the Red and Blue Room, the Paradox Museum has teamed up with artist Insane51 to recreate a sort of XXL kaleidoscope. By combining photorealism with superimposed images in shades of red and cyan, the visitor’s eye is once again led to question what they’re seeing.

After this dizzying series of thrills, the Paradox Museum tour has one last surprise in store—a much more indulgent one. Head to the first Hans & Gretel shop ever to open in France, a concept straight from England that transforms the end of the visit into a journey into a Grimm brothers’ fairy tale. When it comes to treats, the selection is decadent, just like the venue itself: bubble waffles, waffles, ice cream, and donuts—and more donuts—vying for the spotlight with the shop’s true star, the “fairy cone,” an ice cream cone coated in light, airy cotton candy. Not to mention the gelato—from a simple two-flavor cup to giant lollipops, candy canes, and marshmallows hanging like a candy tree. The icing on the cake: admission to the Hans & Gretel shop is free.
