We’re in the home stretch before Notre-Dame Cathedral reopens to the public. To mark the occasion, an official ceremony will be held, including an event concert. We tell you all about the program for this brilliant gathering, which has been the subject of numerous rumors.
Notre-Dame: what’s in store for the grand re-opening concert?
Almost five years after the devastating fire that engulfed Notre-Dame, the cathedral is ready to rise from its ashes and welcome the public once again. Schedules, entrance fees, program: a great deal of information has been circulating around the event, not least about the concert itself. In any case, the date is set for December 7. From 9pm onwards, Stéphane Bern will host an exceptional evening broadcast on television channels the world over.
So, what will this colorful evening be all about? A fine blend of lyrical song, classical music and more contemporary interpretations, this concert will bring Parisians together around the emblematic monument for several hours of non-stop entertainment on the monument’s forecourt.
Among the performers will be the masterful Venezuelan Gustavo Dudamel, who will conduct the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra for the occasion. Musical geniuses follow one another, with Chinese pianist Lang Lang and Benjamin Bernheim also taking part. As for the more “popular” part of the program, rumors of Paul McCartney and Pharrell Williams have been confirmed, but the show will feature Vianney, Garou and Clara Luciani, as well as Angélique Kidjo, Hiba Tawaji and French DJ Michael Canitrot.
An impressive line-up to celebrate a symbolic and historic event. A not-to-be-missed event for all heritage lovers, which will be broadcast on France Télévisions and Radio France.
