We’re almost there: on December 7, Notre-Dame Cathedral will reopen its doors to the public after long months of waiting. After 5 years of work, it’s a truly historic moment that will unfold before our very eyes. Admission prices, opening times and the festive program: we tell you all about this event eagerly awaited by many Parisians.
All you need to know about the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral
2063 days: that’s precisely the time between the dramatic fire at Notre-Dame and the building’s reopening to the public. This Saturday, December 7, the monument will reopen its doors, before holding its first mass the following day. This will be followed by several days of celebrations and masses, including those dedicated to firefighters and craftsmen, and a series of concerts (some 50 a year), the first two of which will be dedicated to Bach on December 17 and 18.
As far as admission to the monument is concerned, while the idea of charging for visits has been considered and pushed by the French Ministry of Culture, it will be possible to enter the monument completely free of charge, except for the Treasury. The only condition is that reservations must be made via the Notre-Dame website or a dedicated application. Two days before the visit, the day before or the day of the tour, you can reserve your 30-minute slot, subject to availability.
Now you know everything. Now all you have to do is wait patiently for the grand re-opening!
