You’ve surely noticed— the heat is definitely back in Paris, and it’s a safe bet it’ll stick around all summer! To cool off, there’s no secret: water and shade will be your best allies. That’s good news, since the City of Paris plans to reopen its swimming areas very soon. In July, you’ll be able to enjoy the areas at Bercy, La Villette, and Grenelle, as well as a brand-new spot located between the Louis-Philippe Bridge and the Marie Bridge.
A brand-new swimming area in Paris
Going for a swim in the Seine—some people are fiercely against it… But it would be a shame to miss out on a real burst of coolness in the middle of a heatwave. In July, the City of Paris is reopening its swimming areas in the Seine for the entire summer. This includes Bercy and Grenelle, but this year, a new spot is making its debut. The area will be located not on the Marie branch, but between the Louis-Philippe and Marie bridges.

The reason? The location of the Marie branch posed a problem due to heavy river traffic nearby. For everyone’s safety and the peace of mind of boaters, the new area will be located on the other side of Île Saint-Louis.
From there, you’ll be able to see the towers of Notre-Dame de Paris and enjoy a very pleasant setting all summer long. For now, no opening date has been announced, but we can expect an inauguration sometime in July!
📍 Location: Louis-Philippe Bridge, 75004 Paris
