The most Parisian of American women is back on our screens. On December 18,Emily in Paris aficionados will finally be able to discover season 5, and the first images unveiled by Netflix are already causing quite a stir. And with good reason: they show Mindy and Alfie getting closer. A rapprochement that may not be to Emily’s (or some viewers’) liking. Agence Grateau may have moved to Rome, but Emily’s not done treading the Parisian pavements in her 12-inch heels, as the first photos of the season show. So, which Parisian landmarks will we see in this eagerly-awaited new season? We give you a sneak preview.
(And pssst: if you’d like to follow in Emily’s footsteps, you can also find all the addresses from previous seasons listed here).
1) Emily in Paris season 5: The legendary Le Train Bleu restaurant
Opened in 1901, this Parisian restaurant nestled in the heart of a train station is a masterpiece of the Belle Époque. And this gilded showcase is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful restaurants in the world. You’ll recognize it: it’s Le Train Bleu, discreetly located in the Gare de Lyon.
A great lover of the finest Parisian venues, Emily couldn’t pass up this architectural gem, once frequented by Brigitte Bardot, Salvador Dalí and Coco Chanel. At least, that’s what this first image suggests, offering a sneak preview of season 5.
Will Emily succumb to Le Train Bleu’s legendary roast leg of lamb, served to the slice car? Let’s see…
2) Emily Cooper (again) on a station platform at Gare de Lyon
Emily and station platforms are a bit of a love story in Emily in Paris, season after season. We particularly remember the moment when she climbs aboard an Orient-Express-style night train to reach Saint-Tropez.
And for once, Lily Collins – aka Emily – seems to be at a new turning point in her life, facing… drum roll… Gabriel! Will the farewell be heartbreaking on the Gare de Lyon platform? Will Gabriel and Emily end up on a date at Le Train Bleu? Answer on December 18 on Netflix!
3) Emily in Paris season 5: the now mythical Place de l’Estrapade
The Place de l’Estrapade has had a cult following since season 1 ofEmily in Paris, with tourists flocking here to take photos, red berets and croissants in hand (a cliché, really?). With the picturesque balcony of Emily’s maid’s room (a very luxurious maid’s room), its cobbled streets and pretty fountain, this little square had everything it took to become an emblematic setting for the series.
And in the first images of season 5, the Place de l’Estrapade can be seen, a sure sign that Emily will be returning to the City of Light in these new episodes.
4) Mindy in the Marais on a float for the Marche des Fiertés
The first photos also show the exuberant Mindy in full show mode, perched on a Gay Pride float. It’s worth noting that every year, the LGBTQIA+ Marche des Fiertés takes in the Rue de Rivoli, Rue Saint-Antoine, Place de la Bastille and Rue de Lyon. So it’s safe to assume that this new season will offer us some beautiful images of the Marais district.
In fact, this might be a good time to take a trip down one of the oldest streets in Paris, recently voted the coolest in France… and it’s right in the Marais.
