Follow us as we discover this little spot that ticks all the boxes of a good neighborhood address.
Neuvième Cru or Italian generosity on the plate
A stone’s throw from the Folies Bergère, Neuvième Cru is located under the windows of a former transport and import-export company. Pastel tones, neon and tiled walls: once through the door, we’re plunged into an ambience as warm as it is modern. With its small number of covers and the proximity of the kitchen to the customers, this pocket address has all the makings of a convivial spot!
Having set the scene, we move on to the heart of the matter, namely the plate. After a warm welcome from Yanis and Zahir, the two brothers behind the restaurant, it’s time to open the ball with antipasti. To be shared, these little starters are a fine tribute to Transalpine tradition, particularly in terms of the quality of the ingredients chosen. Arancini with cacio e pepe sauce, meatballs with tomato or stracciatella with pistachio and foccacia: the great classics are on the menu, and they’re done to perfection.
To continue this sunny journey, the piatti on the menu, from comforting recipes to daring combinations of tastes, are there to enchant our taste buds. The menu at Neuvième Cru features a wide range of pasta recipes, from traditional carbonara (without cream!) and bolognese, to lesser-known ones such as paccheri a la zozona (guanciale, egg and tomato) or cep and gorgonzola ravioli. And if you feel like it, you can also opt for veal Milanese or eggplant parmigiana.
In any case, don’t forget to round off your meal with a delicious dessert, choosing between tiramisu, panna cotta or Sicilian cannolo. Finally, the pleasures of the palate also extend to the glass, so take advantage of a short but varied wine list and a selection of tempting cocktails, including a surprising Italian mule at Fernet Branca.
Are you a lover of transalpine cuisine or simply looking for a good neighborhood address? Head straight for the Neuvième Cru.
