Of all the rooftops in Paris, it is undoubtedly one of the most impressive. The Paris Montparnasse Observatory will close its doors to the public on March 31 for a little facelift. Perched 210 meters above the city, we will miss this panoramic view of Paris…
The Montparnasse Tower is closing… And this is your last chance to visit its observatory

The Paris Montparnasse Observatory has been delighting Parisians for 53 years. Standing 210 meters tall, it is one of the only skyscrapers in the heart of the capital to offer a 360-degree view of the entire city. Quite simply, you can see all of the capital’s most iconic monuments from here: the Eiffel Tower, of course, but also the Sacré-Cœur, the Panthéon, and even the Arc de Triomphe, all revealed from a new angle.

So you have until March 31 to feast your eyes before several years of renovation… In fact, in a few years’ time, the Montparnasse Tower will no longer resemble the 1970s building we know today. Completely transformed, the tower and its surroundings will be much greener. There will be a forecourt planted with 2,000 trees and a completely glass-covered tower housing shops, hotels, and even an agricultural greenhouse. It’ s an ambitious project that will take several years to complete.
The observatory will continue to welcome visitors as normal until March 31. After that, we’ll just have to be patient…
