Ah, the pleasure of open-air cinema after dark! One of the season’s star-studded events is the Cinéma en plein air de la Monnaie de Paris, held in the institution’s majestic courtyard.
Cinéma en plein air de la Monnaie de Paris returns in July
This summer, you’ll be on a popcorn diet! From July onwards, your diary will be packed with screenings at the capital’s many open-air cinemas! In the Cour Carrée of the Louvre, in the forests of the Ile-de-France, or at the heart of a national monetary institution! A strange place for a screening? Far from it! From July 23, the superb Cour d’Honneur of the Monnaie de Paris (inaugurated in 1775) will be transformed into an open-air projection room for Une toile sous les étoiles!
Every summer, the venue, which houses a minting workshop as well as a cultural site dedicated to metal, erects a canvas and sets up deckchairs in its courtyard, to welcome spectators delighted to enjoy a screening in such a privileged setting! With this event, the 7th art meets the capital’s architectural heritage!
In previous editions, hundreds of people have viewed French and international cinema classics such as Back to the Future, Top Gun, La Folie des Grandeurs and Slumdog Millionnaire!
