A new address? Yes and no! The sushi restaurant, Matsuri rue du Bac, reopened its doors in December and now boasts an impeccable décor inspired by the Shinkansen, Japan’s famous high-speed train!
Matsuri rotating sushi
Izakaya, teppanyaki, ramen… Paris now boasts enough Japanese restaurants to offer a wide range of specialties and atmospheres for those with an insatiable appetite for Japanese food! Among the trends that transport us directly to the archipelago are “kaïtenzushi“, restaurants designed around a conveyor belt where sushi and other dishes are paraded before us!
With 8 locations in Paris/IDF, the Matsuri chain has made this a specialty, offering a modern menu that combines classics and revisited recipes! For its “latest address”, actually a reopening, Matsuri has completely redesigned the place to offer its customers a playful design, even an experience!
Climb aboard the Matsuri Shinkansen
Closed for a time for renovations, the rue du Bac establishment reopened a few weeks ago with an ultra-contemporary identity designed to transport anyone in Japan’s high-speed train, the Shinkansen. To fulfill this fantasy, Matsuri teamed up with architect Jessica Mille, author of sublime creations in the restaurant sector (Noir Coffee shop, Adela…), who delivered an immersive decor, elegant and pop at the same time!
With its pastel pink and blue banquettes, touches of chrome, rounded ceiling and long room, Masturi invites us to take a seat on board the famous Japanese train! The Rue du Bac address is transformed into a restaurant car divided into several sections! Cocktail bar for aperitifs, conveyor belt for meals and Matsu café for desserts, Matsuri unveils its menu of Japanese dishes and beverages in each section, ranging from the traditional to the more creative!
A masterful exercise in style, it will appeal to japonophiles and children alike, who are sure to be impressed by the playful, futuristic design!
📍 Location: 74 Rue du Bac, 75007 Paris
